What do we offer?

BrainBridge Connections is a one of a kind opportunity for high school students to engage in research first hand. In this day and age, where there is a lot of pressure on students to make notable impacts in their respective fields, it is hard for students to learn the skills needed and grasp the necessary opportunities. However, with our program, there is a much smaller burden on students to work to find an opportunity like this, rather than to actually learn meaningful research skills.

Through our program, ambitious high school students are matched with undergraduate students from universities like UT Austin, UCI, UC Berkeley, and more, based on their interests. These interests can range from biology and computer science, all the way to economics. After this initial matching, these students will work in groups through a rigorous study of skills crucial in academic research, like reading papers and analyzing data. Throughout the program, students can expect to further specialize in their interests, and eventually create a poster presentation. This poster will be used to present at a BrainBridge Connections run research symposium, where students will be judged by top professors and innovative engineers from institutions and companies like UT Austin, Johns Hopkins, and NASA. Through this symposium, students will get to talk to other students about their research, and be able to effectively communicate with industry professionals!
